"glossy" magazines for distribution with their dailies.
Looks like American newspapers are realizing the advantage of
glossy print ads over digital online ads. Just like many
of their counterparts in other countries have done! (Note:
Many Asian dailies are already distributed multiple glossy magazines
with their dailies.)
Are brand marketers partial to glossy print ads? (A la "gentlemen
prefer blondes" ?!)

Brightcove.com Signs Up First Major Deal With Braodcaster
Internet TV service Brightcove.com
has just signed its first major deal with a broadcaster : it is
to become Fox
Entertainment's online
video platform. Fox Channels FX & Speed have already started
programming and hosting ad-supported Internet video channels using
Brightcove's technology. One of a number of Web TV platforms, Brightcove
provides similar services to CBS, Discovery, MTV Networks, National
Geographic, Buena Vista, Dow Jones, BSkyB & the New York Times,
amongst others.

ago with 130 channels), Hong Kong Telecom's Mobile TV trials will
run till
end 2007 - to test their business model. Armed with English Premier
League football rights, HKT sees mobile broadcast as a natural progression
to their digital offerings.

calls. Customers will soon be able to see live video of their
callers from 14 countries (including UK, Philippines & South
Africa) for a steep cost of Dh4.2 ($ 1.2) per minute.
