Your
Web-site on your Customer's Desktop ?
A "Helpline" web-site hosts a small software which site visitors
can download. Once downloaded, the software runs on the user's PC.
Maintaining connections with the web-site database (whenever Internet
access is available) to "pull" data selectively as per user-defined
preferences.
Whenever the user wants to visits the "Helpline" web-site, he simply
executes the local software on his PC. And the software replicates
the look and feel of the web-site along with the latest data pulled
from the web-site.
Whenever the web-site is modified, (or the user upgrades his PC)
simply host a new version of the local software which will download
& replace the older version on all users' PCs.
You have managed to let your user surf your web-site on the power
of his PC . Without any load your web server !
Pizza Delivery & the New CRM Model
A pizza delivery outlet delivers (pizza shaped?) CDs along with
his pizzas. With the customer's permission, he even installs the
CD (software) in his PC, Palm PC, Laptop (and soon cellphone). The
pizza company's letter declaring that the CD is virus-free assures
the client.
And a brief note describes the software as an info-tainment enabler
with direct feedback to the company.
(The same software is also hosted on the company's web-site. With
an automatic upgradation feature by which the latest version replaces
the existing one at each client's end.)
The
New Medicine Man
A pharmaceutical co. medical rep (M.R.) distributes (pill shaped?!)
CDs to doctors, physicians & surgeons. He even installs the software
in the doctor's PC.
Once again, the doctor is assured by the pharma company's assurance
that it is virus-free. Along with a brief note describing the software
as a means of regular information, new product launches, latest
developments and direct feedback to the company.
Content is King !
Once the software is installed, it continually checks for Internet
connection. As soon as connection is available, it starts 'picking
up' select content from designated folders on the company's web-site(s).
These may be periodically "popped up".
In short, you can take your company's web-site(s) to your customer's
desktop !

Benefits of E-Communities
With e-communities, you have a method of staying in regular, direct
touch with your clients. By delivering a judicious mix of useful
information, relevant news, light material (eg. jokes) along with
new product launches, special offers, free service camps, etc.
What's more, your team could be instantly informed whenever a customer
is online. This along with his profile, may trigger instant communication,
e.g. "Are you free?
Can I talk about our new offer ?"
An instant system acknowledgement for every such message, keeps
you aware whether your customer is online or offline.
With
